Heather Thomas, ESQ., MSN

Heather Thomas is a highly esteemed attorney and healthcare professional based in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in health law and medical malpractice. With a Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and certificates in Health Law and Health Care Compliance, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a past President of the Health Law Society.

Prior to her legal endeavors, Heather built a solid foundation in nursing, earning her a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Akron and a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Case Western Reserve University. Her experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, coupled with her extensive nursing background, equips her with critical insights that enhance her legal practice.

As a former Founder and Principal Attorney at her law firm, Heather adeptly handled complex cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and personal injury. Her tenure as Attorney and Operations Manager of Medical Malpractice/Birth Injury at another large practice firm saw her investigate over 1,700 birth injury cases and develop a national department system.

In addition to her legal practice, Heather serves as a Board member of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys, as well as an active member of the OAJ and member of multiple committees including Women in Law. A recognized speaker at legal conventions, she passionately advocates for justice and serves as a mentor within the legal community.

Heather is an advocate for veteran’s and volunteers her time and expertise to assist those in need, and had previously volunteered as a member of the Honorable Judge John J. Russo’s Veterans Court. She is the wife of a recently retired Army Lt. Colonel, and the second of her three daughters is a Sergeant with the U.S. Army.
